Check out our March 1 television appearance on The Hampton Roads Show on WAVY-TV 10. We were the featured artist on "Live Music Friday" and performed two original songs -- "Daughter of Blues" and "Little Boy Blue". Check it out!

In case you missed it, check out our interview and jam session on the Blues Traffic Jam Show with Brian Roughton of 88.7 FM WFOS.  The session took place on January 17 ahead of the release of our first CD on January 27. 

In May 2012, five talented young musicians who met at the Academy of Rock Music came together to form The UnXpected and have since played venues all across Hampton Roads and beyond.  The summer of 2012 was highlighted by a second place finish in the Natchel Blues Network's IBC competition, a road trip to Clifton Forge, VA for a performance at the historic Masonic Amphitheater and performances at the 30th Annual Hampton Bay Days and the Stockley Gardens Art Festival.  Most recently, The UnXpected  took home the top prize in the Junior Battle of the Bands competition at the Jewish Mother in Va. Beach and was honored to play before a spirited crowd at the DC Blues Society's Battle of the Bands in Silver Spring, MD.  We look forward to representing the DC Blues Society in the Youth Showcase of the IBC in Memphis, TN early next year. 

In November, we are excited to be playing for the Harely-Davidson Toys for Tots Benefit as well as Academy of Rock gigs at The Cactus in Yorktown and The Jewish Mother in Norfolk.  In early December, we will share the stage with a number of talented local bands to raise money for FM99's Christmas Wish Fund.  On December 8, we will be in the holiday spirit as we play and share a float with Bria Kelly of America's Got Talent in the Hampton Holly Days Parade which will be televised locally.  We wrap the year with a special performance with the Academy of Rock on December 20 at Schooners and a benefit concert to support The Hope House on December 27 at the Jewish Mother Hilltop.  Finally, in January, we're headed to the infamous Canal Club in Richmond to play alongside some of the best blues bands Richmond has to offer before heading to the IBC in Memphis at the end of the month.
